He was born in Mosul . He studied at the Seminary of St. John starting in 1893. He was ordained a priest in 1904 for Qaraqosh where he served for three years, after which he returned to Mosul and taught at the seminary.
He composed an Arabic-Syriac lexicon. The lemmas until sīn were published (n.d.), with a 2nd ed. published under the title ktobo d-simto / Arabisk-Ass. / Syr. Ordbok (1984), with an introduction in Syriac and Swedish by Gabriel Isik.
